teaching kids to quilt

I had the best time last week at the 4-H Club quilt camp. I had 10 kids ages 9-13, and it was totally exhausting but great. They learned so fast. To keep on schedule, I found other sewing or embroidery projects to keep them busy until their parents picked them up each day. They had never embroidered anything before but did wonderfully. They absorb information like sponges. Their parents were shocked when they came for the kids on Friday at how beautiful their quilts (44"x44") had turned out and what tiny stitches they used. Some of the kids and a couple of their parents are joining our sewing club. One day you will have to e-mail me your mailing address so I can send you a piece of my scrimshaw....Jim D, TheNeedler

You Surface Design DVD

Hi Lyric, I watched your DVD yesterday. wow! you did a great job and gave us sooooo much information! Your DVD could be a full college class on surface design. I will watch it again, and again. Even some of the technique I 'knew' you put a new spin on and made me want to try it your way.
