My Bio

Cate Coulacos Prato is the editor of Cloth Paper Scissors STUDIOS, features editor for Cloth Paper Scissors, editor of the Embellishments enewsletters, and author of Mixed-Media Self-Portraits. She loves to collect fabric, especially vintage, and to do embroidery when she can find her glasses.

  • Mixed-Media Self-Portraits Wins Award

    Mixed-Media Self Portraits: Inspiration and Techniques (Interweave, 2008) by Cate Coulacos Prato has won a bronze award (third place) in the Publishers Association of the West’s PubWest Book Design Award, How-to Book Category.

    PubWest’s Book Design Awards recognize superior design and outstanding production quality of books, catalogs, and websites in 18 different categories. The 2009 awards recognize the following team that made Mixed-Media Self Portraits possible:

     

    • Mixed-Media Self Portraits: Editor Darlene D’ Agostino; Designer Karla Baker; Production Katherine Jackson; and Photographer Larry Stein.

    Winners will be recognized at the National Publishing Conference November 12–14, 2009, in Tucson, Arizona. Publishers Association of the West is a nonprofit trade organization created to serve the needs of its members and as a forum for the discussion of publishing issues. Originally, the PubWest design awards were limited to publishers in the West, but in 2009 the organization opened the awards to publishers throughout North America.
