Baptiste Ibar <---This is his blog
Go check out Baptiste's work (this link is his artist's site), and comment, he needs some. I love Baptiste's work. He draws and paints from a primitive, intuitive place while firmly grounded in technique. I have the pleasure of knowing him in person. You can also see the use of his work in the Michel Gondry movie The Science of Sleep.

My Blog My Art
Thanks for the link. Added him to my Bloglines. His use of color is very exciting and comforting at the same time. I could see his "space" series designs translated to textiles. I would love to curl up under one. It would also be fun to just dye the color palettes. :D Oh, if I only had more than 10 minutes at a time.
Here's a Youtube video that blows me away... an artist in NYC who makes monsters out of garbage bags and subway grates.
Way cool. I'm sure he has scared more than a few people with those.
Being a HUGE fan of street art, I have a lot of these links bookmarked... if they get boring, say so LOL.

Swoon, lives somewhere here in Brooklyn (I think). I get to see this around town. I love it.
This guy has a unique way of "hooping" his fabric. Love his expressive stitching.

I want to be Swoon when I grow up and I want to take free-motion classes from Richard Box. LOL
Swoon. Wow. Those are some awesome linoleum cuts.
Since we are doing sketchbooks, I am suggesting Karen Blados. She does a perfect drawing everyday ... and she has kids. She is also a professional illustrator. She has a Flickr account and a sketch blog. They are basically the same. I just go for Flickr.

This woman's abstract felted art is eye-popping.
I love following the thread of conversations here - these artist sites are certainly eye-opening for me. Zowie - I love the views! whew - great stuff. Please continue to post these free-wheeling artists' sites. I'd never be exposed to them otherwise. Like so many others, I am sucked into daily job, and hopefully, a little time to quilt . - Seeing fun, new, HOT art work stretches our minds beyond the little spheres that we live in. Keep it up!!!.
Thank you, mary j.
