My creative space is 1-3 to 1/2 my living room, about 8x8' space.  It's open concept and one wall is 1/2 windows, so no place for a design wall.  I love the natural light, and hope to have a portable design board soon.

Melanie! I love your art, I just discovered art quilting and it's a blast. I have changed my grown-up son's room into my space. It's tiny- But there is a big closet- absolutely stuffed al the way to the ceiling. But it's all mine and I made all the art on the walls

Currently my studio consists of a small buffet table, a sewing table and a refrigerator in the garage. Everything is in different rooms. Making anything requires going up and down the stairs.

I think that you meant October on the giveaway (not September). ;)  Love the kite.

I have a spare bedroom dedicated as my art room; however, lately it has become more of a storage room than anything else because I keep acquiring more stuff and have less time to do anything with it. That's a trend that I desperately need to reverse!

Oh, and your quilt is stunning - I voted for it. It was my favorite out of the whole group! I love abstract artsy quilts.

Dang! Too late to vote as contest ended two days ago but loved seeing all the beautiful quilts.

My studio is a 12x12 farm building formerly used to cure hams, bacon, etc. We decided to save the building and along the way, it was re-born as a studio for me.

It overlooks the beautiful Appalachian Mountains and my small flock of rare breed Shetland sheep, Romney, Merino and cross bred sheep and hypoallergenic American Curly horses.

Hi Melanie. I don't blog but I do have a creative space in my house. I put my 2 girls together in one room and have taken over the extra bedromm (~8 x 10). I love having a space to myself that I can leave a mess and just close the door. Prior to that, I had all my stuff in the kid's play area......Needless to say many things went missing!

By the way, I love your art and have just ordered your book. Can't wait to receive it and start trying some of the stuff in it this winter!

Mells,  I made my dye color wheel today using the three bright colors you recommend - yellow, turquoise and fuchia.  I really like these three colors because I really like brights.  I had a great time making the color wheel.  Sometimes I wonder if I am just being silly getting so excited about something so simple!  But then I realize it's just because I love creating so much and I'm okay with that!   The color wheel will be on my blog first thing Wednesday morning:  somethingcleveraboutnothing.blogspot.com

Hi Melanie, love your work. I'm new to this blogging lark, can sometimes travel for miles & get pretty lost - inspiring, even tho it can keep me out of my studio, which is a good size with a display area but I never put anything away & drive myself mad. I love a creative mess tho!  Emma
